At present, Dr. Pollets sees individual clients with issues
around adjustment to stress, depression, and anxiety. In all
his cases, he takes an active, practical, and problem-focused
approach. He is open and honest with feedback, liberally sharing
his understanding, perspective and interpretations. He proceeds
in the therapy work by involving the client in an ongoing
assessment of the goals, progress, and satisfaction with the
progress throughout the treatment. The client’s beliefs
about the therapeutic “work” and its progress
are essential to the quality of outcome and part-and-parcel
of the session’s content. Dr. Pollets’ objective
is to fashion a treatment that best fits the needs of the
client every step of the way so if results are not satisfactory,
alterations in the treatment can occur.
Dr. Pollets has been trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy,
cognitive-behavioral therapy, and family-systems/couples/group
psychotherapy. He has added mindfulness awareness practice
to the eclectic mix of his treatments. Teaching certain clients
insight meditation is often a useful adjunct to the therapeutic
work. He is currently in the process of being credentialed in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy.

Dr. Pollets
believes strongly in the effectiveness of group therapy to
help those with relationship or interpersonal difficulties.
Group allows speedy access to self-defeating patterns of behavior
and effective treatment. Support from others undergoing change
is available in-group and feelings of shame are diminished
as a result. Dr. Pollets offers both long term and time-limited
groups to help clients enrich their emotional lives and relationships.
